Top Animated television programs of the 2000s. Some of the best TV shows were produced throughout the 2000s, a time when animated television was extremely popular.

Since its inception in the early 20th century, animation has advanced significantly. New technology and declining production costs have enabled animation studios to create more vibrant worlds than could ever be imagined in the live-action medium. The best animated television programming ever made, in particular, was produced in the 2000s, and Gen Z is tremendously fortunate to have grown up watching these shows.

Even though children make up a large portion of the viewers for these television programs, none of them conform to the regrettably widespread cultural presumption that animation is “for kids.” Studios like Netflix and Marvel are now investing in animated material for all age groups thanks to the labor of these foreign creators and animators.

Futurama

A guy who had been cryogenically frozen awakens in the 31st century  and sets out to discover a new life. This science fiction comedy TV show’s premise and straightforward animation technique make for some belly-laugh-inducing humor. Futurama, which was created by Matt Groening, has a similar kind of comedy to his other well-known television series, The Simpsons. The show frequently features jokes that are occasionally regarded as arcane, such as nerd humor and humor for scientists, mathematicians, and pop culture fans. Numerous episodes parody movies, including the well-known “Godfellas” episode. In the past ten years, the show has been syndicated, shelved, and resurrected on various networks. It now only appears as repeats on its former home, Adult Swim.

Ed, Edd, n Eddy

Three buddies named Ed, Edd, and Eddy—collectively known as The Eds—live in the fictional town of Peach Creek and are the subject of the well-known 2000s television series Ed, Edd n Eddy. They have a few neighborhood buddies that frequently appear on the show as well.

Teen Titans

Teen Titans, like the majority of the other entries on this list, gained notoriety after its debut. The show centers on a team of young superheroes of the same name, all of whom are based on DC Comics characters. Even though it was geared toward a younger demographic, the program found a wide audience, and later seasons concentrated on darker and more complicated plots.

Samurai Jack

Many people think that the animation had some of the best visual arrangements of any animated program since it was artistically distinctive for its period. The television show has received praise from critics and garnered various honors, including an Emmy. The story was spread across four seasons during its run in the 2000s, however, they did not wrap up the plot. A fifth season was released in 2017.

Ben 10

An alien wristwatch that changes the wearer into several alien animals with various abilities. The premise of Ben 10 was brilliant, and the show endured through numerous reboots and sequel series in the hearts and minds of its viewers.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy

The main characters of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy are an uneducated, upbeat youngster named Billy and a cynical, remorseless girl named Mandy. One day, Mandy defeats a Grim Reaper named Grim in a game of limbo in order to save Billy’s pet hamster, earning Grim’s friendship.

Scooby Doo

The Scooby-Doo franchise’s most recent edition served as a modern update to the 1970s original series. It follows the exploits of Mystery Inc.’s detective crew, comprised of Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby. The show does not have an overall story; instead, it focuses on episodes in the mystery-of-the-week format. For viewers of all ages, the gang’s camaraderie and infectious sense of humor bring these already fascinating mysteries to life.

Phineas and Ferb

Phineas and Ferb take advantage of the fact that during the summer months in between school semesters, imaginations are at their most active and in need of stimulation. Step-siblings who reside in a suburban home, the titular characters spend their summer vacation days creating insanely complex technical marvels for amusement. They also have a secret agent platypus as a pet.  The series has also been adapted for other platforms. The most recent movie on Disney+ was Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against The Universe, which premiered in August 2020.

Courage the Cowardly Dog

Courage the Cowardly Dog is undoubtedly one of the most bizarre horror animated series to ever air. The main characters are a dog named Courage and his elderly owners, who reside in a fictional town’s outlying rural area. The program is renowned for its frequent use of distressing and frightful horror elements. But a lot of people still watch Courage because of its mystical escapades. The program debuted in 1999 and ran until 2002. It is still one of the most recognizable horror comedies in history, though.
