The Last of Us Season 3 Confirmed by HBO

According to HBO, Season 1 of The Last of Us brought in over 30 million viewers, and the premiere episode alone reached 4.7 million views on the first day. It became one of the biggest launches for HBO since House of the Dragon.

Francesca Orsi, HBO’s Head of Drama Series, said that the second season is a powerful continuation of the story and praised the entire team, including creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.

She said the storytelling in Season 2 is “outstanding” and that the channel is excited to see this level of work continue in Season 3.

What to Expect in Season 2 and Beyond

Season 2 will have seven episodes and pick up five years after the events of Season 1. The story follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they face new challenges in a dangerous world.

The creators have said that the full story from The Last of Us Part II game may take up to four seasons to complete, so there could be even more seasons in the future.

The cast of Season 2 includes returning stars like Gabriel Luna and Rutina Wesley, and new faces like Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Jeffrey Wright. Comedy legend Catherine O’Hara will also appear as a guest star.
