PS5 Anniversary Themes : Sony states that due to high volumes of fan feedback, the PlayStation 5 anniversary themes it was removing will be coming back in the future.
PlayStation Having Histories and Gratitude from Fans
Over 30 years, PlayStation has become one of the most influential gaming brands of all time, weathering competition from Nintendo, Sega and, later, Xbox. PlayStation had a massive fan following since the 90s, and it mainly succeeded due to exclusive titles and the latest technology.
You can always rely on an impactful PlayStation console to shake up gaming history. The PS2 is one of the best-selling consoles of all time, boasting a library of legendary titles and multimedia capabilities. The PS3 had a rough start because of its price point, but it eventually won over fans. The PS4 was a phenomenally successful juggernaut, crushing its generation thanks to a massive portfolio of critically acclaimed single-player games. Today, the PS5 carries on PlayStation’s legacy of high-powered hardware and immersive gaming experiences.
The Removal of PS5 Anniversary Themes
To mark its 30-year journey, PlayStation launched PS5 anniversary themes in December, one for each of its past four generations. But Sony had cautioned that these designs wouldn’t be permanent. Now, these themes are being deleted out of consoles, even if the themes were actively in use.
Needless to say, fans were crushed, as they loved nothing more than a chance to theme their consoles with a nostalgic blast from the past. Luckily for us, Sony listened to the fan outrage, and announced that themes will be returning with a future PS5 update. Although there is no established schedule, their return is anticipated by springtime.
The Future of Themes on PS5
The removal of these anniversary themes has also reignited discussions about PS5’s lack of theme customization. Unlike the PS4, which offered dynamic themes allowing players to personalize their consoles with favorite games and characters, the PS5 currently lacks such options.
Many fans are hopeful that Sony is paying attention and may bring back themes more permanently or introduce a new customization system. PlayStation has not explained why the PS5 does not support dynamic themes, but players remain hopeful that this could change in future system updates.
For now, PlayStation users will have to wait patiently for the return of the anniversary themes, while also keeping fingers crossed for more customization options in the future.
