Massive Update for One Piece Anime Serious New Film Plans Amid Series Return Announcement
Jump Festa saw several significant updates for Toei Animation’s cherished One Piece anime, including plans for future motion pictures and the TV show’s return date after an October break.
Although fans found Jump Festa 2025’s Super Stage RED to be an emotional event, the adventures would always carry on with One Piece’s themes. Subaru Kimura took Kazuki Yao’s position as Franky’s voice actor after he graduated from the role. Aoi Todo in Jujutsu Kaisen and Hanamichi Sakuragi in The First Slam Dunk are only two of Kimura’s well-known roles. Yao had been Franky for almost two decades. One Piece Releases a Special New Trailer for the Anime Series’ Return Date
Starting at 11.15 p.m. JST on April 6, 2025, One Piece will resume airing for the first time in almost two decades. Oda said he wants to push for even greater heights, which explains why the anime seems to be pushing harder today than ever as it prepares for a comeback. “So, we will do the manga, anime, movies and live-action all seriously!” he declared. “ONE PIECE is getting ready to make some announcements and plans for the upcoming year. Please look forward to the TV anime’s return, which I believe will be simpler for everyone to enjoy with a more modern system.”
As Kazuki Yao steps down, One Piece takes Franky’s place as a longtime voice actor.
Oda individually praised Yao, who has been playing Franky since 2005 and has previously appeared in the cast as Jango and Bon Clay, in addition to the planned films and other franchise updates mentioned in his statement. Yao revealed that his motives were related to his deteriorating health and capacity to function as he had intended. “I want to thank everyone and the Shueisha, staff, including Eiichiro Oda,” Yao stated. “Lastly, I would want to thank my wife for waiting for me at home and my cherished pets in particular. I sincerely appreciate it.
On stage, Subaru Kimura, a Japanese actor and rapper of German descent who played the younger Buggy in 2021, was introduced as Yao’s replacement for Franky. With such as Takeshi Goda in Doraemon, Aoi Todo in Jujutsu Kaisen, and King Shark in Suicide Squad Isekai, among many others, Kimura has been a voice actor since the middle of the 2000s.
One Piece is available for streaming on Crunchyroll & Netflix, with the former receiving the most recent episodes shortly after they air. The official description of the series is: “Monkey D.
