Mission: Impossible

Paramount Pictures debuted a thrilling new trailer for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the latest entry in the beloved action franchise during the 2025 Super Bowl. The film is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025.

The trailer features Tom Cruise returning as Ethan Hunt doing high-terrain stunts on land, sea and air. Most excitingly, it contains a scene of Hunt hanging upside down from a plane, which is a reflection of the intense action set pieces audiences have grown to anticipate from the series.

“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” picks up where 2023’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” left off as Hunt and his team faced off against a rogue AI by the name of the Entity. The upcoming film will explore this plot line further, and returning cast members include Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff and Esai Morales.

Produced by Tom Cruise and the lightning rod that directed previous editions of the franchise directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The film is believed to deliver the same spectacle of “Mission: Impossible” action and intricate scripts. McQuarrie’s direction has represented a key factor in raising the franchise’s cachet as purveyors of formalistic heliotropism, delivering arches for high-quality action cinema.

The “Mission: Impossible” series has long been known for upping the stakes in things like stunts and action sequences with every movie. This new trailer doubles down on that tradition and presents a montage of Ethan Hunt’s series-high stunts to date, ending with fresh, blood-pumping shots that suggest audiences can expect even more ridiculousness from their next mission.

Along with the returning ensemble, the film introduces new characters played by actors including Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O’Brian, Holt McCallany, Tramell Tillman, and Janet McTeer. Though details on their roles are being kept under wraps for now, they are expected to bring in some new dynamics to story.

Its trailer drops at the Super Bowl, a testament to the high hopes and big marketing budget associated with the film. Considering the track record of Mission Impossible movies both on the box office and critical front, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning promises to be one of the biggest movie events of 2025.

As fans wouldn’t want to miss seeing Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast in action, they plan to join on for what will be one of their toughest missions yet. Combining a high-octane action with a sophisticated narrative and endlessly charming performances, the film is sure to be one of the most talked about titles of the summer movie season.
