Minecraft Movie Post-Credits Scene

As for the Minecraft movie, it is finally released and fans of the amazing game want to know about its features. One major one involves the post-credits scenes — there are two of them! — and what they might suggest about a potential sequel.

The film, while filled with fun and adventure, has had everyone talking not about what happens in the movie but what happens after it ends. If you’re still in the theatre and debating whether to sit around through the credits, the answer is yes! There are two scenes that are worth watching — one is amusing and the other suggests something grander.

What Happens During the Post-Credits Scenes?

The first scene happens over the credits, nearly as soon as they start. It’s whimsical and slightly ludicrous. Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Vice Principal Marlene, along with her favorite villager, Nitwit. The two have developed a cute, budding relationship, learning to speak each other’s languages. And Nitwit even proposes to her, revealing both a humorous and a tender side of the story.

But it’s the second mid-credits scene that actually sets up some real groundwork for the future.

The last scene shows Jack Black’s character Steve returning home after his Overworld adventures. He knocks on the door and a woman answers. We don’t get a great look at her face, but we’re given strong hints in the red ponytail and green shirt. She says her name is Alex.

Who Is Alex and Why Does She Matter?

For those who may not know, Alex is a major character in the Minecraft universe. She was introduced as the second playable character after Steve. In the game, Alex is basically the female version of Steve and one of the default skins. Her appearance in the movie, even for a few seconds, has sparked excitement.

Although she only shows up briefly, it’s enough to make fans wonder if she will play a bigger role in a second movie.

Will There Be a Minecraft Movie 2?

As of now, there’s no official word about A Minecraft Movie 2, but this ending gives hope. Steve mentions a chest he left behind, which could become part of a new story. And there is still a lot of Minecraft’s world that has not yet been explored — such as The Nether, the Ender Dragon, or even the spooky lore of Herobrine.

The Minecraft world is pretty open-ended, so a sequel could take you in many different directions. With box-office success, we’d almost certainly be seeing more of Alex — and perhaps new adventures with Steve.
