Marvel Comics to Expand Predator Universe with New Four-Issue Anthology Series, Predator: Black, White & Blood, Launching May 21, 2025 This anthology series about the Predator will tell tales only in black, white, and blood red — showcasing the Predator’s most vicious hunts in different times and places.
Varying Settings and Plot Lines
“Predator: Black, White & Blood” will take readers around the world and through time, as Yautja encounters humanity across the ages with each issue. The debut issue includes:
Australian Frontier: After a young Predator sets out to establish himself in the Australian outback, he runs into some surprises when he crosses paths with humans from a convict settlement.
Arthur in Law: The only fusion of Predator’s superior technology and traditional sword and sorcery, with an edgier take on the Arthurian legends.
The Predator in an International Weapons Conference — The Predator receives a taste in itself at an international weapons industry conference, taking out some of the most dangerous people in the world.
They’re compelling stories that offer a new take on the Predator lore if you’re a fan of the franchise since day one or had just heard about it.
Creative Team and Artwork
The series has a killer roster of writers and artists:
Joe Kelly: A frequent “Amazing Spider-Man” and “Deadpool” collaborator, Kelly joins the artist Álvaro López to show the Predator’s struggles in the Australian frontier.
Eliot Rahal: Making his Marvel Comics debut, Rahal teams with artist Brian Level to blend a dream of the Predator universe and Arthurian legend for a messy retelling rendered with space-age technology and medieval lore.
Sarah Gailey: The author of the new “White Widow,” Gailey teams with “Vampirella” artist Fran Galán for this story about the Predator tricking its way into a top-secret, high-stakes weapons conference and how the Yautja’s code of honor holds up in such a modern context.
Beautiful artwork from Simone Di Meo brings the story to life and leaves a mark on the pages, while variant covers by Paolo Villanelli and Mahmud Asrar successfully capture the emotion, drama, and harsh reality encapsulated in the series.
Expanding the Predator Franchise
Predator: Black, White & Blood keeps with the tradition of Marvel publishing well-crafted anthology series about the darker corners of beloved franchises. This new Predator-centered series follows a solid run of similar series involving characters such as Wolverine and Carnage and looks to expand the lore and explore unexplored corners of the Predator mythos.
The anthology format of the series opens it up to great creative potential and allows filmmakers to reach the Predator in their own unique stories and how they played out against different cultures and decades. Not only does this leave the old mythology open to interpretation but opens the door for future adaptation into other media.
Anticipation and Release
With these stories coming up and the May 21 release date looming, fans can hardly contain the excitement. As they are up and running with your hunt, Predator: Black, White & Blood is set to give it a whole new edge with a wider eye and even more blood and guts action that will bleed ink in the minds of the people who devour it.
