Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is confirmed by Rockstar Games to release in fall of 2025.
The announcement comes via Take-Two Interactive’s most recent earnings call, confirming to fans the game is still on track amidst speculations to the contrary.
Fans are eager for GTA 6, a game rumored to be more ambitious than previous installments and to take players back to Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami. Rumors claim that the game will have an immense open-world map, possibly even double the size of Los Santos from GTA 5. Players will control a pair of protagonists, one of whom is a female named Lucia, a first for the series.
Rockstar hasn’t announced a precise release date, but if previous fall releases are any clue, it could hit between late August and December in 2025. Yeah, there have been rumors and projections in the industry about this timeframe, so if true, then fans better prepare for some official release dates soon enough.
However, in the past, Rockstar has delayed major releases to sharpen high quality, as they did with Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5. Take-Two Interactive remains extremely confident that it will still make the fall 2025 release window.
Alongside GTA 6, Take-Two features several mega releases scheduled for 2025, which include Civilization 7, WWE 2K25, and Borderlands 4. That’s a loaded lineup, and the company hopes it will lead to a revenue windfall next year.
