Godzilla vs. Marvel

Now this summer, fans will def be thrown for a loop when Godzilla battles the entire Marvel Universe in this thrilling new comic book event! This five-part limited series — titled Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe — will have the King of Monsters take on the biggest of Marvel’s heroes — and villains — beginning July 16, 2025.

This thrilling collaboration is the brainchild of Marvel Comics joining forces with Toho International, the studio that created Godzilla. Gerry Duggan writes it and Javier Garrón draws it, two recognizable names in comics.

The film opens with Godzilla mysteriously waking up and going on a rampage in New York City. Earth’s mightiest heroes come to stop him, but even that might isn’t enough. It gets serious as they’re made to partner with some of Marvel’s most dangerous villains in attempts to stop the monster.

This series has so many outrageous moments when bringing Hulk against Godzilla, having a symbiote bond with the King of Monsters and an ancient Celestial showdown as one of its main events. It’s also delving into Vibranium’s mystery, particularly whether Godzilla has a link to Wakanda.

This event, which Toho’s General Manager, Kristin Parcell, said was a celebration of 70 years of Godzilla. From head to toe: Sarah takes on the role of the multi-tentacled creature in the film, which is described as a wild ride, full of action, surprises and unforgettable moments. For Duggan, a lifelong fan of Godzilla, working on this series is a dream come true.

With great art, an expansive cast of characters, tons of action, this comic series is being hailed as “the biggest comic event of the summer.”
