The movie was originally released in 2021 and became one of the biggest hits of the MonsterVerse series. It showed the legendary battle between Godzilla and King Kong—two of the most powerful monsters ever seen in Hollywood. The MonsterVerse is far from over. In 2024, the studio released another movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. This sequel brought back both Titans, but this time they joined forces to fight a powerful enemy from Hollow Earth.
Even though reviews were mixed, fans loved the new monster action. Because of that, a third film has already been announced. The next movie will release on March 26, 2027, and will be directed by Grant Sputore (of I Am Mother). The screenplay will be written by David Callaham.

Season 2 stars Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Wyatt & Kurt Russell. While the plot is still a secret, fans can expect a bigger role for Kong after his surprise cameo in Season 1.
