Genshin Impact is well into its 5.5 Version but, leaks for the next Version are already getting the players excited.
This means new characters, regions to explore, and a chance at even more Primogems. With the data available up to October 2023, here’s a complete rundown of what players can expect in the upcoming update.
Addition of Fresh Faces
According to leaks, Version 5.5 will add two new characters — Veresa and Ifa.
Veresa: From Natlan’s Collective of Plenty, Veresa has quite an appetite. She was known for winning the competition to be the 242nd Inferno Stomach Supremo eating 80 servings of Hot Spring O’Clock. Gameplay-wise, Veresa would be a new 5-star Electro character, bringing in some more diversity into the team comps.
Ifa: A well-respected Saurian veterinarian from the Flower-Feather Clan, Ifa is laid back (by Saurian standards) and has an especially strong friendship with Ororon. That’s all for now, but players can expect to add Ifa as a 4-star character to their roster, though details on his abilities and vision have not yet been disclosed.
Natlan Region Expansion
Version 5.5 will feature a massive upgrade to the Catalan region. According to leaks, players will be venturing through the Great Volcano of Tollan, one of the most notable structures that can be seen across Nathan. This region, after all, is rich in history in the world of the game, home to ancient dragons, and is likely to offer all manner of new creatures and lore for players to discover.
The expansion will also serve as the conclusion of the Nata World mission saga, with the third installment set in this volcanic region. This mission could explore elements of the history of the Pyro Sovereign as well as some of the cultural aspects intertwined with Nathan.
More Primogems Available
Version 5.5 should also bring a large amount of Primogems to obtain for players eager to wish on looming banners. While estimates estimate that players can garner around 12,875 free Primogems during the update, or around 80 pulls on event banners. This is a significant increase over the 9,350 Primogems considered granted in Version 5.4.
There will also be several new sources of Primogems in Version 5.5.
Daily Commissions) Most days, you’ll be able to sit down and knock out those Daily commissions for a total of up to 2,520 Primogems over the six-week stint of the update.
Events: Limited time event participation is likely to yield roughly 2,360 Primogems.
New Quests and Exploration: Several world quests will unlock across Natlan, including the new Great Volcano of Tollan region, where there could be around 1,400 Primogems via exploration and achievements.
The Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater: Complete their respective challenges for another 2,400 Primogems.
Maintenance + Livestream Rewards: Players can await 600 Primogems in compensation from maintenance, and 360 Primogems from the Version 5.6 livestream and related promo codes.
Well, for those who do plan to buy in-game purchases, the Blessing of the Welkin Moon subscription during Version 5.5 would provide an additional 3,780 Primogems. What is also worth noting is that the purchase of battle pass may reward another 1320 primogems, to add even more wishes into the pool during the homa update.
Conclusion
After going through a semi-respected Mad Max stage (Genshin Impact’s 4.x series), we’re now lying in a neutral rabbit hole (5.x) where content abounds — all the way from Veresa and Ifa to the domains of Natlan’s Great Volcano of Tollan. Despite having more opportunities to obtain Primogems, players will be tempted to immerse themselves in the new missions. As is the case with any leaks, we have to be cautiously optimistic about these until official announcements are made.
