Marvel Comics is making headlines again—and this time, it’s with some heartbreaking news for fans of the Fantastic Four. Just before their much-awaited entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Marvel is teasing that the iconic superhero team could be completely destroyed.

This unexpected turn is part of the ongoing comic book storyline called “One World Under Doom,” where the powerful villain Doctor Doom takes over as Sorcerer Supreme and begins reshaping the entire Marvel Universe in his image.

And the Fantastic Four? They’re about to face their toughest, and possibly final, battle.

Fantastic Four Turns into Fantastic Zero?

The upcoming comic issue, Fantastic Four #33, scheduled for release on June 25, has sparked major discussion among Marvel fans. Marvel has even renamed the issue as “Fantastic Zero”, hinting at the team’s possible end.

According to Marvel, this issue is a “major turning point” in the current run by writer Ryan North and artist Cory Smith. The storyline takes the Fantastic Four all the way back to the Big Bang, hoping to fix what Doom has done—especially to Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.

But the challenge is nearly impossible. The team has to travel 436 quadrillion seconds into the past, and the conditions are said to be “un-survivable.” Their only hope? A precise timing plan using H.E.R.B.I.E., their trusted AI assistant.

Doctor Doom’s Reign of Terror Has Just Begun

Doctor Doom is not just causing problems for the Fantastic Four—he’s shaking the whole Marvel Universe. In One World Under Doom #1, which released last month, Doom has taken over Earth and become Sorcerer Supreme. Now, he’s using his magical and scientific powers to destroy every hero in his way.

Earlier this year, in Fantastic Four #31, the superhero family was already falling apart, with only two members left standing. Doom’s attacks are becoming more personal and more brutal.

But the Fantastic Four are not alone in this fight. Even the Avengers are struggling to stop him. In Avengers #25, they face massive losses and are left completely shaken by Doom’s new powers.

A Big Event Spreading Across the Marvel Universe

Marvel has made it clear that this is not just a Fantastic Four story. Doctor Doom’s rise is part of a much larger publishing event. His influence is spreading across many major comic titles like:

Avengers

Iron Man

Red Hulk

Superior Avengers

Runaways

Doctor Strange of Asgard

Doom’s Division

Doom Academy

This crossover is set to change everything, not just for the heroes, but also for the future of the Marvel Universe itself.

What’s Next?

All eyes are now on Fantastic Four #33, releasing on June 25, where fans will find out whether Marvel’s First Family survives—or ends their legacy as “Fantastic Zero.”

And with the MCU version of Fantastic Four also around the corner, fans are wondering: Is Marvel cleaning the slate in the comics to make room for something new on the big screen?
