Returning with a goal to restore the universe is one of DC Comics’ most powerful and strange heroes. Following Mitch Shelley on the most significant mission of his several lifetimes, Resurrection Man returns from the dead in a new limited series after years of absence.
According to DC Comics, Anand RK (Batman Urban Legends, Blue in Green) and Ram V (The New Gods, Detective Comics) will collaborate on Resurrection Man Quantum Karma in April. Shelly’s powers have been corrupted and are being used by a cruel captain of a World War II internment camp to disrupt the cosmic order. Resurrection In order to save the cosmos, man must fight his enemy across time and space, dying as many times as required.
To save the universe, DC Comics brings back an unkillable hero.
Resurrection Man, sometimes known as Mitch Shelley, is a hero who first appeared in his own series of the same name in the late 1990s. Shelley is always able to rise from the grave, regardless of how he is slain. However, each time he is brought back to life, Shelley gains a new superpower that he keeps until he is killed again. The original season of Resurrection Man followed Shelley as he journeyed across America in pursuit of the truth about his abilities and his forgotten history. The New 52 saw Shelley return for a new series, but Resurrection Man hasn’t been seen since it was canceled.
Ram V expressed his excitement about Resurrection Man’s comeback in a statement released by DC Comics, stating: “This is a story I’ve wanted to tell since I first started writing for DC.” Anand RK’s preview artwork, which depicts Shelley coming back to life and displaying a new, luminous emblem on his chest, was also supplied by the publisher. Resurrection Man is a character that is ready for investigation, especially by a writer like Ram V, who may contribute some intriguing elements to the fan-favorite character’s lore, even though book details are still scarce.
DC is preparing to provide an underappreciated hero with the series he deserves.
Shelley’s powers were used freely in the first two Resurrection Man series. Additionally, it appears that Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma will challenge the hero’s skills to the limit. With a character like Resurrection Man, the possibilities are truly endless, and based just on the teaser artwork, it appears that Ram V and Anand RK have some fascinating ideas about where to take Mitch in this new phase of his existence. The ‘never say die’ mindset that Resurrection Man possesses as he prepares to redeem the DC Universe is probably still present.
DC Comics will release Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma #1 on April 2.
