Dragon Ball Super Manga Reveals Its 2025 Return With A Unique One-Shot What We Already Know

Following the death of series creator Akira Toriyama in March of this year, Dragon Ball Super’s manga was abruptly put on hold. Since the franchise’s future was unclear, Dragon Ball Daima debuted with a side tale that was unrelated to the manga’s plot. However, fans may finally celebrate because the April 2025 edition of V-Jump will have a one-shot manga adaptation of Dragon Ball Super.

Trunks and Goten appear to play major parts in the one-shot, which is expected to occur during the superhero portion of the series’ overarching plot. As the release date draws nearer, additional details regarding the new entry will become available, although not much has been disclosed thus far. Although it’s unclear when the series’ monthly release schedule will resume, any new release is encouraging for Dragon Ball Super’s future. There’s a good chance that the Trunks and Goten side story will be followed by news of a complete comeback.

The manga for Dragon Ball Super has finally returned with a brand-new side story.

Unfortunately, after Dragon Ball Super finally finished its adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, the manga was forced to pause. Fans’ enthusiasm was swiftly overshadowed by sorrow and loss over Akira Toriyama’s demise, as the story entered uncharted territory and the terrifying Black Frieza was introduced. Although the publication of even a new side story is encouraging for Dragon Ball, the future of the series without its creator is questionable.

In addition to being relegated to supporting roles during combat, Goten and Trunks are essentially underutilized throughout Dragon Ball Super. The two Hybrid Saiyans are also essentially AWOL for most of the narrative. For the now-teenagers, a fresh one-shot is a terrific chance to reintegrate into significant roles and contribute in a meaningful way. Additionally, there’s a good chance that viewers will eventually get to see a teenage Gotenks.
