One Piece Season 2 Set Photos

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, recently visited Cape Town, South Africa, to give an update on filming, and Netflix shared new images from the One Piece Season 2 set. While praising the “huge” sets, Oda pledged that the second season would be better than the first. The complete message can be read below.

The live-action Netflix series is being filmed in Cape Town! I witnessed directly the labor of numerous crew workers in a variety of disciplines! Those sets? Big! The focus on details? Unbelievable! Love for the project by the crew? Unbelievable! How about the food? Wonderful!

Because of my role, I now feel even more responsible.
I also had the opportunity to talk to every new cast member in addition to the returning members from Season 1. I made my own casting decisions based on pictures and videos from Japan, but after seeing them all in person, I was persuaded that “they were absolutely the perfect choice!!!” Additionally, the atmosphere on the set was fantastic! I promise you, this will be better than Season 1! Watch for Season 2!

Along with the message, Netflix posted a number of images of Oda on the set of One Piece Season 2, which is anticipated to introduce Chopper and cover the Arabasta saga. Fans with keen eyes might be able to predict what to expect from some of the images in the gallery above.

One possible explanation for the popularity of the live-action One Piece over previous live-action anime adaptations on Netflix is Oda’s involvement in the show. Despite receiving mixed reviews, One Piece Season 1 was a huge success for Netflix, which led to the approval of a second season.

In our review, we stated that Netflix’s One Piece aims to replicate the enchantment of its original work in a live-action format, although doing so necessitates sacrificing some plot points. The Netflix series is at its best when it forges its own course in reaction to the adjustments made by showrunner Matt Owens and the writing team. This makes for an intriguing variant on the long-running manga and anime that works in parts. Unfortunately, One Piece frequently veers back into fan service and familiar territory rather than completely embracing this reinterpretation, which muddies the experience.

It is anticipated that Netflix will launch in 2025.
