This milestone statement emphasizes how Gundam’s immortality for veteran and new fans alike.
Re-release in theaters with additional footage
On February 22, the screenings will be enhanced by special footage, which will ensure the momentum of the film maintains as it continues to play throughout Japan. There’s also speculation about where the story might go next when GQuuuuuuX returns to the screen as a TV series later this year, even though no firm announcements have been made as yet. The idea is to create repeat viewings and keep interest in the franchise alive.

Plot Overview
Taking place in an alternate timeline in the Gundam universe, the series will follow Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student who lives in a space colony. Nyaan: A freedom fighting refugee from the wars of the past who must relive them in the underground dueling circuit of Clan Battle. It is how Amate, now calling herself Machu, becomes a driver in this fast and dangerous sport, and the pilot of the badass GQuuuuuuX. As their world spirals into chaos, an enigmatic Gundam wielded by an unknown figure named Shuji makes itself known, with authorities hot on its trail—a clash that will change their world forever.
North American Release
For those in North America, fans will be able to watch it in theaters on February 28, 2025. Whether international audiences will get access to the extra footage and merchandise offered in Japan remains unclear, though, as the film’s release has long been anticipated.
