Now, Marvel Studios is coming at them with an exciting first look at their upcoming Thunderbolts movie dropping a new trailer during the Super Bowl that gives fans their closest look at the antihero team and what their biggest threat will actually be. The film will release May 2, 2025, as a major part of MCU.
The Thunderbolts lineup includes Yelena Belova/Black Widow (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko). They are called together by the C.I.A. director, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), for a potentially fraught new mission.
Sentry, played by Lewis Pullman, appears to be their enemy, according to the trailer. Sentry is an overwhelmingly powerful character, often seen as a Superman-like figure, yet possesses a dark alter ego by the name of The Void, making him one of the most terrifying threats to the MCU.
The trailer also implies that not everyone on the Thunderbolts will survive. But some fans believe Taskmaster could die as she is not seen in the major battle scenes. The trailer also showcases high-octane action sequences, bruising team dynamics, and a look at the team grappling with their pasts.
Directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Kevin Feige, Thunderbolts unites a team of morally ambiguous characters who now get a redemption claim. The film is expected to be a box office hit with its star-studded cast, hair-raising action, and emotional stakes.
Fans can’t wait to see how this rogue group will take down another one of the MCU’s most major threats when Thunderbolts hits theaters this May.
